LifeLabs awards post-secondary scholarships to employees’ children through annual scholarship program
Toronto, ON – September 6, 2017- LifeLabs would like to congratulate the recipients of the 2017 Family Scholarship Program, an annual scholarship program that contributes $20,000 towards helping the dependent children of LifeLabs employees fund their post-secondary education.
Every year LifeLabs awards 10 exceptional students with a $2,000 scholarship through the Family Scholarship Program, though this year LifeLabs was able to award 11 students thanks to sponsorship provided by The Co-operators Group Auto and Home Insurance. Scholarships are offered to students entering their first year of a full-time degree or diploma program at any recognized Canadian university or college and are chosen based on an application and essay outlining how they exemplify LifeLabs’ values of caring, knowledge, and action.
“Education is an important component to building a sustainable and successful future,” says Donna Wilson, Senior Vice President, People, Community and Strategy at LifeLabs. “The recipients’ academic achievements, community involvement, and hard work will truly benefit them in completing their post-secondary studies and in pursuing their dreams. We are so happy to be supporting our employees and their children through this exciting life milestone.”
LifeLabs congratulated and presented scholarships to winners from both Ontario and B.C. Parents/guardians, LifeLabs’ employees and senior leaders shared the celebration and presentations in both provinces.
As part of LifeLabs’ mission to building a healthier Canada, making education more accessible for our employees and their families is essential for a successful future.
