Toronto, Dec. 21, 2022 – LifeLabs is excited to announce that we have been awarded the 2022 Workplace Benefits Award for our Coronavirus and benefits category from Benefits Canada, a leading publication dedicated to workplace pension, benefits and investment news.
In 2020, LifeLabs recognized the potential long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on its employee’s overall health. From there, the team shifted focused on a holistic wellbeing strategy to offer more flexibility, choice and supportive initiatives to enable staff and their families to tend to their health care needs.
LifeLabs introduced various wellness programs focused on the theme of flexibility. We introduced health care spending account credits for Flex Plan members and implemented Wellness Days for eligible employees to use at their discretion. We also offered on-demand 24/7 access to a virtual physician through a virtual health care solution powered by Maple and initiated over 1,800 virtual wellness resources to help employees take control of their health via the LifeWorks digital platform.
“Supporting our employees during the turbulent times of the pandemic was the right decision,” said Nicole Desloges, LifeLabs’ Senior Vice President, People. “That’s why we invested in a virtual health care solution for our benefits eligible employees to provide a variety of online resources and tools and to conveniently access a physician for themselves or family members 24/7/365. We are very proud to have delivered these critical programs that helped relieve some of the pressures our employees and their families experienced.”
LifeLabs recognized its employees’ resilience and hard work through these uncertain times. Working together with unwavering personal integrity, mutual respect and trust toward our shared purpose has proven to be a pillar of who they are. This award reflects its continued commitment to each other.
