Dear Health Care Providers,
As part of our continuous improvement efforts, and in consideration of valuable feedback from healthcare providers, LifeLabs has updated and standardized the Panorama™ Non‑Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) private pay requisition nationally. This change supports a more streamlined, consistent experience for patients and clinicians across the country.
Effective April 1, a new Panorama TM NIPT requisition is available on the LifeLabs Panorama webpage. Significantly, Sex Chromosome Abnormalities (including Monosomy X) will now be listed as an opt-in component of the test (i.e. requiring selection), rather than opt out (i.e. included unless specified otherwise).
We ask that you please transition to using the new requisition by April 30, 2026. Starting April 30, the new requisition will be required to complete PanoramaTM prenatal testing. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to foster a reliable, efficient process for this important testing.
Why choose Panorama™ NIPT:
- Early, reliable screening: Panorama can be performed as early as 9 weeks’ gestation, supporting timely clinical decision‑making and earlier patient reassurance.
- SNP‑based technology for added confidence: Unlike counting‑based NIPT methods, Panorama uses single‑nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) technology to analyze fetal DNA, enabling more precise assessment of certain chromosomal conditions.
- Broad clinical applicability: Panorama is designed to perform reliably across a wide range of clinical scenarios, including low fetal fraction samples, twins, and singleton pregnancies involving egg donation or surrogacy.
