Toronto, ON. (November 29, 2018) – Earlier today, LifeLabs employees across Canada hosted the second annual Pajamas and Pancake Day, sporting their cozy pajamas and serving pancakes to raise funds in support of children with cancer and the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO).
The event marks the second anniversary of LifeLabs’ partnership with POGO and its commitment to donating $200,000 over four years. As the lead sponsor of the Pajamas and Pancakes program, LifeLabs was pleased to present a cheque for $64,000 this morning to POGO thanks to the generosity of our employees.
In Canada, an average of 943 cases of cancer are found in children each year. With this prevalence, LifeLabs wanted to support those who are helping children with cancer, their families and communities by helping POGO with their mandate of providing equitable access to health care and support services.
“We are so proud of our partnership with POGO and honoured to be the presenting sponsor of the Pajamas and Pancakes program,” says Louise Nagy, National Director Community & Environmental Sustainability. “With this contribution, we are helping children, and families access the best available care and supportive services during a very difficult time.”
