Toronto, Ontario. May 31, 2024 – Last week, our team attended the 43rd YWCA Women of Distinction Awards Gala in Toronto as a Future Leaders sponsor. It was an inspiring evening celebrating the achievements of five remarkable Ontarians making a difference in women’s lives. Hearing their stories and accomplishments rejuvenated and reaffirmed our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
We were proud to discuss our DEI initiatives, especially our Women of LifeLabs Employee Resource Group. Creating a more inclusive and equitable future is extremely important to us, and this event highlighted just how crucial this work is.
Our team didn’t just attend the gala; we actively participated. Several team members volunteered their time at the event to show our support. Our strong female leaders, including Judy Mellett, our VP of Product & Platforms, Channels & Customer Experience, represented us. Judy’s recent recognition as one of the Top Women Leaders of Toronto for 2024 by The Women We Admire underscores her exceptional leadership and dedication.
Judy’s work within our organization and in the community sets a shining example of effective leadership and innovation. She serves on the Rotman Design Initiative Advisory Board and teaches business design at Ted Rogers School of Management. Additionally, she trains women entrepreneurs and diverse groups through WE-Hub (Women’s Entrepreneurship Hub) and ADaPT (Advanced Digital and Professional Training).
