Toronto, ON – May 8, 2018 – After a successful pilot in select communities of the Greater Toronto Area, LifeLabs is expanding the MyVisit™ service radius to Peel, Halton and York Region, which includes Vaughan, North York, Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, Milton, and Aurora.
MyVisit™ is a new service that makes blood draws, and other specimen collections, more convenient and accessible for LifeLabs’ patients. By allowing patients to have specimen collection done in the comfort of their own home or workplace, LifeLabs is responding to the unique needs of Canadians, and changing the way they receive and experience health care.
“At LifeLabs, patient needs are at top of mind, and these needs are constantly evolving,” says Joby McKenzie, Senior Vice President, Business Development. “Canadians are busy juggling work, home, and family life. With MyVisit™, we offer the convenience of coming to you at a time and location of your choice.”
“Getting my blood work done in the comfort of my own home made all the difference,” said 62 year old, Lenore Rubinger, a patient of LifeLabs’ MyVisit service. “I have smaller veins, and having the phlebotomist come to me helped me relax and in turn made the procedure easier. With MyVisit, my blood draw was quick, easy, and comfortable. These are things I can really appreciate!”
LifeLabs is building a healthier Canada by providing Canadians with convenient services tailored to their personal needs. LifeLabs conducted a survey of patients who have tried the MyVisit™ service and found that 44% identified time as being the main factor for using the service, highlighting that convenience in health care is in demand.
MyVisit™ is available to customers located in the Greater Toronto Area to schedule an appointment at their convenience and location of their choice for a fee of $60 per visit. Customers who meet certain health criteria and are referred by their health care provider may be eligible for a discount on the service fee. MyVisit™ currently offers specimen collection for testing including blood and urine tests, ECG monitoring, and Holter monitoring. Patients can find more information, check if MyVisit™ is available in their neighbourhood, and make appointments by visiting www.lifelabs.com/MyVisit or by calling 1-833-59-VISIT.
