To date, LifeLabs and its employees have donated over $250,000 to POGO
Toronto, ON, May 7, 2021 – In honour of Mother’s Day, LifeLabs has teamed up with community partner the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) to make this occasion a little brighter for families with children in cancer care by donating 20 care packages filled with everything they need for a hearty and fun pancake breakfast at home.
“We are so proud to partner with POGO who support children and families receiving cancer treatment in a number of ways” says Charles Brown, President and CEO, LifeLabs. “One of LifeLabs’ core values is caring and our employees live that value by supporting incredible organizations in communities across Canada every day.”
Employees also took the opportunity to increase their charitable impact by leveraging LifeLabs’ Employee Giving Program – with the organization matching a portion of each donation to POGO.
“We are inspired by passionate partners, like LifeLabs and its employees, who share our vision and enable initiatives like this that are critical to our success,” says Lynn Wilson, Chief Development Officer of POGO. “Since 2017 Lifelabs has raised more than $265K in support of POGO’s mission. We partner to achieve an excellent and integrated childhood cancer care system for children, youth, their families and survivors in Ontario and beyond. From a child’s diagnosis, through treatment and into survivorship, POGO is here for kids with cancer, for now, for life.”
As a token of appreciation, LifeLabs purchased additional care packages that it plans to give away to employees to show its support for parents and caregivers across the organization who have been working tirelessly to support the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
