Dr. Nicholas Baniak, MD, is the Saskatchewan Medical Director at LifeLabs and has been with the organization since 2024.
Dr. Baniak earned his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014. Following his MD, Dr. Baniak completed a residency in General Pathology at the University of Saskatchewan. He has completed a fellowship in Urologic Pathology from Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Before joining LifeLabs, Dr. Baniak held the role of Staff Pathologist at Saskatoon City Hospital.
A dedicated contributor to the scientific community, Dr. Baniak is the Division Lead Anatomic Pathology at the City Hospital, Royal University Hospital, and St. Paul’s Hospital, the Saskatoon IHC Director, and the Saskatoon Royal College Examiner for Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology.
He is also a member of numerous professional associations, which include the Saskatchewan Medical Association (SAM), the Saskatchewan Association of Lab Medicine (SALM), the Canadian Association of Pathology (CAP), and the United States and Canadian Association of Pathology (USCAP).
Dr. Baniak is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, where he leads Pathology courses for residents and medical students.
