Effective June 2nd, 2024, single test requests for detection of Chlamydia (CT) or Gonorrhea (NG) cannot be performed. Our current testing process performs molecular testing for the qualitative detection of CT and NG on the Hologic Panther system using the Aptima Combo 2TM Assay. The Aptima Combo 2TM Assay tests CT and NG simultaneously from a single specimen (i.e., one collection kit/specimen) and requests for CT or NG individually by NAAT can no longer be performed. Single test requests will not be rejected but will be tested with the Aptima Combo 2TM Assay and include both CT and NG results.
