In 2016, Dr. Morrison joined LifeLabs as Clinical Biochemist and oversees serum/urine protein electrophoresis, allergens and special chemistry assays. Prior to joining LifeLabs, Dr. Morrison served as Clinical Biochemist at Humber River Hospital overseeing the transition of the clinical laboratory to new platforms and a new laboratory space.
Dr. Morrison obtained her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto studying insulin-secreting pancreatic beta cells in Type 2 diabetes. She completed her post-doctoral training in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Toronto and is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry. Dr. Morrison has served as lecturer and tutor over the past several years at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine, teaching first year medical students foundations in clinical biochemistry. Dr. Morrison is a member of the Canadian Society of Clinical Chemists Monoclonal Gammopathy Working Group and is a co-author of the recent consensus document on protein electrophoresis reporting. She has several peer-reviewed publications and has presented her work at both national and international conferences.
